Pittsburgh, a city in the southwest of Pennsylvania, sits at the junction of three rivers. The city has a population of 302,971 people, which includes around 44,500 senior citizens. Thanks to its excellent health care facilities and vibrant arts and culture scene, Pittsburgh is an attractive choice for seniors who are looking for amenities closeby.

Assisted living facilities provide support and assistance with everyday tasks, including bathing, grooming and housekeeping. Assisted living may be the right choice for seniors who don’t feel able to live independently anymore but don’t require the 24/7 medical assistance that nursing homes provide. Seniors in Pittsburgh typically pay $3,250 per month for assisted living care, which is lower than the Pennsylvania average of $4,100.

This guide offers an overview of assisted living in Pittsburgh. Keep reading to find out more about the benefits and drawbacks of retiring in the city, the average cost of care and alternative long-term care options.
